Weddings Without Pretense

LGBTQ Wedding Photographer

Quincy MAlik

As a queer, LGBTQ-friendly wedding photographer, creating a space where couples feel safe to be fully themselves matters just as much as the photographs. You shouldn’t have to focus on a camera during your wedding. You should be able to take in the fact that you are actually getting married instead of having to worry about serving face. Working off of energy has shown me that some moments need to be documented while other moments need to just be remembered. Doing this work people have shared with me that over time their favorite images are the ones of family members, friends and loved ones. Action shots, candids and images they can point at and tell a story about the exact moment or person. Listening and watching these people share in excitement is part of what shaped my stye to what it is today.

When my (now) wife and I found his portfolio we knew almost instantly that we wanted him to be the one to capture our day. From the beginning he was communicative and made sure we had full detail of what to expect. He knew exactly what to do and made us feel so comfortable the whole way through.

— Jeanette B.

We stumbled upon Quincy through a sea of photographers and we knew he would be the right fit for us. He had us laughing and crying and it felt like he was a part of our crew. He is so meant for this work in every single way and we are thrilled to have found him.

— Ali M.

We knew from the get-go we were in great hands. We especially loved all of the candids he got of our day and our loved ones. We really felt like we could be ourselves.

Quincy is the BEST choice we made when it came to our wedding! He turns candid moments into works of art.

35mm Film Wedding Photographer

Shooting only digitally made me strive for perfection where as shooting film makes me strive for preserving. Film took over as a medium in my personal life then I started to bring it to weddings, thats when everything seemed to click. Film requires me to slow way down, focus on light and making sure each frame is fill with a moment of impact. This medium makes my work feel more honest and is the most timeless form of photography in my opinion. As the world moves more into AI and digital perfection something in my soul craves to preserve this version of this craft and art. Preserving tangible art that can not be replicated to make sure we keep the physical world alive in a digital age.
